Anxiety is a thief of joy.
Past experiences, experiences of others, or irrational thoughts; they can all be the culprit that causes us to become paralyzed. We become numb to any joy that is in our midst, because OF FEAR.
Our fear of what the future holds has the ability to cripple us in the present.
If we let it.
The enemy has the ability to crush our hope.
If we let him.
BUT, the HOLY ONE has the ability to take our fears.
To give us hope.
And to BE our hope.
If we let HIM.
Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
We can let painful past experiences keep us from trusting God; or we can allow them to let us surrender control and embrace HIS PLAN AND HIS TIMING.
Surrendering our fears to the Lord isn’t easy, and it surely isn’t a ‘one and done’ kind of task.
Dealing with anxiety and worry is a series of battles that continue through seasons of life.
We have to show up to each and every battle clothed in the Armour of God, ready to fight. But we don’t have to fight alone…
Lord God of Armies, who is strong like you, Lord? Your faithfulness surrounds you. You rule the raging sea; when its waves surge, you still them. Psalm 89:8-9
The very God that calms the sea is on our side………. Who and what do we have to fear?
If we allow our worries about tomorrow override our ability to enjoy the gifts and blessings we have today, we WILL NEVER see the HOPE IN ETERNITY.
I encourage you today, and every single day to follow – surrender your fears to the Lord, and accept His peace.
And when you start to worry again- Repeat.
In the world you have trouble: but take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Always, in Jesus name.
